"because they wanted to," by Mary Gaitskill, was recommended by an old friend when I described the storyline to Some Girl. "Girl on a Plane," one of the short stories, is similar to my film in that it focuses on the people around a violent situation, not the victim. Waterlogged from being taken to the beach and into the bath because I can't seem to put it down.
